Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) delivered an outstanding performance at the 12th IUT ICT Fest Inter-University Programming Contest (IUPC) 2026, held on 24–25 July at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT). Organized by the IUT Computer Society (IUTCS) under the ICPC format, the five-hour contest brought together more than a hundred teams from universities across Bangladesh, making it one of the country's most prestigious programming competitions.
RUET_Jyotichashi secured an impressive 4th place overall, solving seven problems in total. This achievement ranks among RUET's finest performances in a national ICPC-style contest, showcasing the team's consistency, strategic problem-solving, and resilience throughout the competition. RUET's strength was further reflected in the performances of apathy and Post-Contest Clarity, both of which competed admirably against the nation's best teams, highlighting the depth of talent within RUET's competitive programming community.
The achievement reflects the continuous efforts of the RUET Analytical Programming Lab (RAPL). Through regular Team Forming Contests (TFCs), and collaborative practice, RAPL enables students to compete in diverse team combinations, identify compatible teammates, and develop the communication and teamwork essential for success in ICPC-style contests.
RUET's success at the 12th IUT ICT Fest further strengthens its reputation as one of Bangladesh's leading competitive programming institutions. With RAPL continuing to nurture future programmers RUET is well-positioned to build on this success in future national and international contests.
